Corvette Clocks

Corvette Clock Rebuild and Restoration

1953-1962 C1 Corvette Clocks

Unfortunately, we no longer repair 1953-1962 Corvette clocks due to a lack of repair parts available. However, we do offer new 1958-1962 reproduction clocks with quartz movements for purchase.

1963-1967 C2 Corvette Clocks

Chevrolet Motor Division contracted with Borg Instruments to supply clocks for the new Corvette in 1963. Borg was well equipped to supply a quality component. A leading manufacturer for the automotive and aviation industries, Borg supplied a beautiful clock that closely resembled the new gauges.

  • Original Mechanical Movement Rebuild: $180.00 Base Labor. All parts and refacing extra; see below.
    • Original “ticking” movement correct for judging, but prone to failure.
    • Includes complete disassembly and restoration of the case, bezel, and pointers.
    • Service existing movement or replacement, if necessary.
    • Clean the face and install a new lens.
    • Expert reassembly with multi-day testing to ensure accuracy.
  • Quartz Movement Conversion: $190.00 Base Labor. All parts and refacing extra; see below.
    • Recommended for non-judged and non-show cars. Quartz movement is much more reliable than the original mechanical version but may receive a point deduction during judging due to the smooth hand movement.
    • Includes complete disassembly and restoration of the case, bezel, and pointers.
    • Install new quartz movement or service existing quartz movement if previously converted.
    • Clean the face and install a new lens.
    • Expert reassembly with multi-day testing to ensure accuracy.
  • Turn-around times vary based on our current work in-house. Contact us for more information.

The original mechanical clock movements used technology from the thirties. Cars were disposable and the movement would last a few years if you were lucky. We all remember that! Corvette Specialties of MD West can restore your clock with the original mechanical mechanism or a modern quartz movement. We recommend the quartz conversion to all owners that are not having the car judged in an NCRS or Bloomington-type event. Keep in mind, the quartz conversion does not modify the configuration of your clock! The clock can easily be rebuilt with the standard mechanical movement at a later date if you desire.
