We believe that when we offer reproduction parts, they should look as much like the originals as possible. So, to use an example, when you buy our side exhaust covers, we throw in our new “correct u-nuts.” We refer to them as the “correct u-nuts,” because frankly, they look correct. They are exactly like the original u-nuts. They aren’t “kind of like” those original u-nuts, they do not “resemble” them. No, these parts look and operate exactly as the original u-nuts did. In fact, they even have the “m” logo on each part. Even someone who really knew their Corvette side exhausts covers may not be able to tell the difference between the reproduction parts and the originals.
“Original” is more than a Look
Of course, it wouldn’t matter if our side exhaust covers looked like the originals in the slightest should they fail to live up to the high standards that the original set. That’s why we’ve made ours to be just as strong and durable as the originals if not stronger. So, we made sure to securely bond fiberglass heat shields right inside each anodized aluminum cover. The factory installed fiberglass heat shields were dark gray, so are ours – only they’re made in the present and much stronger.
